Early access
Early-Access Privacy Notice
This Notice explains what personal information the NK Dresses pre-launch website collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
1. Who is responsible
Reon Naude trading as NK Dresses, based in South Africa, is the responsible party for the personal information described in this Notice.
NK Dresses is not currently a registered company. For any privacy question or request, contact nkdresses26@gmail.com.
2. What this Notice covers
This Notice covers the pre-launch website at nkdresses.com and the early-access waitlist only.
It does not cover rentals, bookings, payments, deposits, owner payouts, damage, disputes or full user accounts. A separate privacy notice will apply to the marketplace before those services launch.
3. Browsing is free; joining is voluntary
You can read the entire website without giving us any personal information. Joining the early-access waitlist is entirely voluntary.
Because this particular waitlist works by WhatsApp, WhatsApp consent is required only if you choose to join it. If you would rather not consent, simply do not join — nothing else on the website is withheld from you.
4. What we collect
If you join the early-access waitlist, we record:
- your first name, as you typed it
- your mobile number, standardised to South African format (+27…)
- that you gave WhatsApp consent
- the date and time that consent was recorded, generated by our server
- the version of the consent wording you agreed to
- the source of the signup, which is currently the pre-launch website
We do not collect, and the website does not ask for:
- an email address
- your city, area or location
- an identity number or any identity document
- a password or account credentials
- card, banking or payment details
5. Technical and security processing
To keep the waitlist working and to protect it from abuse, our systems and our hosting providers process limited technical information, such as network address and request details, as part of serving and securing the website.
We apply rate limiting to the waitlist form. It is designed to hold as little as possible about you: your network address is first reduced to a broad range rather than a single address, and both that range and your mobile number are converted into an irreversible, unreadable value before anything is stored. The stored value cannot be turned back into your number or your address, and these records are short-lived and removed automatically.
6. Why we collect it, and on what basis
We use your first name and mobile number for one purpose:
- to contact you on WhatsApp about the NK Dresses launch and early access
We process that information on the basis of the consent you gave when you ticked the consent box. We keep a record of that consent — when it was given and which wording you agreed to — so that we can show the basis on which we contacted you.
Technical and security processing is carried out for our legitimate interest in keeping the website available and protecting it from abuse.
7. How we will contact you
When NK Dresses is ready, we intend to message you personally on WhatsApp about launch and early access. There is no automated marketing system behind this waitlist.
We will not use your number for unrelated marketing, and we will not send you anything outside the scope of the consent you gave.
9. Where it is stored
The waitlist is stored in a hosted database kept separate from any other NK Dresses system. Access is restricted to the operator, and the website itself cannot read the waitlist back.
Our providers may store or process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on the transfer conditions permitted by the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
10. How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist entry while it is still needed for the purpose you gave it for — contacting you about launch and early access — and for as long as we need to show that consent was properly obtained.
We have not fixed a retention period for this pre-launch phase. When one is settled, this Notice will be updated and the version number changed. You can ask us to delete your entry at any time, and we will.
Rate-limiting records, which contain no readable personal information, are removed automatically within a short period.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information: the waitlist is not publicly readable, there is no public interface that lists or looks up entries, and access is restricted.
No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information, we will act in accordance with our obligations under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
12. Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time by replying to us on WhatsApp or emailing nkdresses26@gmail.com. We will stop contacting you and, if you ask, delete your entry.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything we did before you withdrew it.
13. Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and to ask for a copy of it
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, misleading or out of date
- ask us to delete or destroy information we are no longer entitled to keep
- object to our processing, on reasonable grounds
- withdraw consent where our processing is based on consent
- complain to the Information Regulator
To exercise any of these, email nkdresses26@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity, which for this waitlist normally means confirming the mobile number you gave us.
14. The Information Regulator
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information or your request, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa), which oversees the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
Current contact details for the Regulator are published on its official website. We have not reproduced them here so that this Notice cannot become out of date.
16. Children
The waitlist is not aimed at children. If you are under 18, please only join with the consent of a parent or guardian.
If you believe we hold information about a child without appropriate consent, contact nkdresses26@gmail.com and we will delete it.
17. Changes to this Notice
We may update this Notice as NK Dresses develops. The version number and effective date at the top of this page will change when we do.
A separate, fuller privacy notice will apply to the marketplace before rentals, bookings or payments become available.
18. Contact us
For anything in this Notice, including access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of consent, contact Reon Naude trading as NK Dresses at nkdresses26@gmail.com.
